Representing Artangel: Creative translation between Event and Internet

My practice-based PhD consists of developing an interactive platform for the online representation of Artangel’s commissions, most of which are ephemeral and site-specific.
This research project entails a critical enquiry into how to best approach their online representation given their particular nature. It proposes to further their impact on the cultural and social spheres by providing both a growing documentary resource and a site for informed debate and ongoing critical exchange.
It aims to translate a selection of Artangel events from their first incarnation into new, networked forms and to extend and ‘entertain’ their second life for the benefit of primary and secondary audiences.
